I love how you would love to make a difference, and your interest in gardening and cooking. As for the books-- does it count if the list is too long, and then I never read anything on the list, but what's in front of me?

Interesting post.
Since I am controlling my nutrition (I hate the word diet) I am surprised to discover that my sweet craving is highly controllable (I could eat 10 0r 15 sweets a day), but my love for pasta is persistent. On average, expect to down a hefty 500-800 calories in ONE dish of pasta. For me, it would be undesirable to eat this. I am now into controlling portions: 100 grams of pasta, two tablespoon of olive oil (no cream/better), in a dish like spaghetti aglio olio con peperoncino (my absolute fave dish) gets the calorie metre at around 500 cals. At least that is manageable!
I am enthralled by your writings every time I read them.I question myself why I can't write like you.By our exprofessions or age probably both are on the same plane. Still intellectually you are far above.
